Holy Week will be mild and sunny, but it should get colder at Easter. In the middle of the week up to 25 degrees expected, then on Good Friday there is a risk of rain showers everywhere.

In Austria, a very mild and sunny Holy Week is in store. On Tuesday and Wednesday, up to 25 degrees are expected in some parts of the country, the experts of the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG) predicted on Sunday. On Good Friday, however, temperatures will drop somewhat and the risk of rain will increase.

Weather on Monday starts changeable
On Monday, the northeast and east will show an interplay of sun and clouds in the morning. Then the clouds will become denser and towards evening even a few raindrops are possible in the Waldviertel and Weinviertel. In the rest of Austria it will be quite sunny, but the sunshine may be dampened by high clouds. The wind will be weak to moderate mostly from west to northeast. In the morning, temperatures will range from minus four to plus six degrees, in the afternoon from 13 to 22 degrees.

High pressure influence will bring plenty of sunshine on Tuesday and only a few scattered clouds around noon and early afternoon. Only in the eastern parts of Lower Austria, in Vienna, in Burgenland as well as in the eastern areas of Styria some clouds will persist until mid-morning. Afterwards, however, the sun will gain the upper hand here as well. The wind will blow weakly to moderately mostly from east to south, during the first half of the day in the eastern half still from northwest to northeast. Early temperatures will range between minus two and plus eleven degrees, afternoon temperatures between 17 and 25 degrees.

Also on Wednesday up to 25 degrees possible
On Wednesday, the high pressure influence will ensure sunny weather throughout, mostly only a few high veil clouds will move across the sky. In the afternoon, especially in the east, a few spring clouds will appear, but they will remain harmless. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from northeast to southeast. After zero to eight degrees at the beginning of the day, highs of 17 to 25 degrees are expected.

On Thursday, it will remain mostly sunny, although some high veil clouds will pass through and may cloud the sunshine at times. Only in the afternoon will a few dense cloud fields and spring clouds appear over the mountains. However, the tendency to showers is mostly low. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from southeast to west. Early temperatures will reach two to ten degrees, daytime highs 18 to 24 degrees.

Clouds and rain from Friday
On Friday, sunny spells will alternate with dense cloud fields and during the day, the tendency for showers will increase significantly everywhere, especially in the mountains. In the afternoon, even thundery showers are possible in the southeast. The wind will blow moderately to briskly from the northwest. Again, ZAMG forecasts two to ten degrees at dawn and twelve to 20 degrees in the further course, with the highest values in the southeast.
